'Pour Four' Quartet to be Featured on Music Products Website
The University’s music, theatre, and dance department’s saxophone quartet, Pour Four, will soon be featured on the Rousseau Music Products website as well as the New Classic experience site for band directors.
“Pour Four” performs several times each semester at University and social events, in public venues throughout the area, and at regional schools. The quartet was inspired by a visit from Conn-Selmer artists, The Moanin’ Frogs. Pour Four is coached by F. David Romines, D.M.A., co-chair and associate professor of music education at Marywood University.
Pour Four also sponsors a regional saxophone event, Super Saxophone Saturday. This instructional gathering is for school saxophonist of all ages. The clinic focuses on classical saxophone tone production and related factors, including embouchure, reeds, mouthpieces, and aural concepts. In addition, technique, alternate fingerings, and worthy saxophone accessories are addressed. Super Saxophone Saturday boasts more than 40 attendees from throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
For additional information about the Pour Four quartet, or for additional information about the music, theatre, and dance department at the University, please visit MTD, or call (570) 348-6268.
