Susan Cognetti
Mrs. Cognetti, Clarks Green, is a Paralegal and Office Manager at the law firm of Cognetti & Cimini. Since beginning her service as a Marywood trustee in 2014, Mrs. Cognetti has served as chair of the Committee on Trustees and presently as chair of the Enrollment Services and Student Success Committee and member of the Executive Committee. She has been the Secretary of the Board since 2016.
Mrs. Cognetti is a native of New York and moved to the Scranton area with her husband, Sal, where they raised their nine children. She has served our community by sitting on several boards, including the Children’s Advocacy Center, Scranton Preparatory School, and Friendship House; as an originating member of the Lackawanna County Treatment Court; as a counselor at Birthright of Scranton; as president of the Scranton Prep Parent’s Club and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Gregory’s Parish, where she was also Parish Coordinator for First Penance and First Communion and an active volunteer at Our Lady of Peace School for more than 25 years. Upon graduation from St. Mary’s High School (Manhasset, N.Y.) as a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist and a New York State Regent Scholarship Recipient, she attended Manhattanville College (Purchase, N.Y.), where she majored in psychology and was certified to teach Elementary Education, K-8. Mrs. Cognetti later attended the Paralegal Certification program at Pennsylvania State University.
