Al attended Shippensburg University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2000. He then went on to receive his Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010 from Marywood University.
After certification, Al worked as a Neurosurgery PA at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Al joined the Physician Assistant Program at Marywood University in July 2021, serving as Clinical Coordinator/Assistant Professor of Practice.
Al resides in Lackawanna County with his wife, Jaime, and their two sons.

Would you mind telling me about your academic, professional and/ or research experience (if applicable)?
When did you start at Marywood? In what department and role did you start in?

I started in July, 2021 in the Physician Assistant Program.

Tell me a little bit about your current role and job functions. When did you start in this position?

I am one of the clinical coordinators for the second year students who are out on their clinical rotations. I also teach general surgery and professional practice class in the spring semester of the didactic year. I began working at Marywood in July 2021.

What is your favorite part about your current job?

We have a strong didactic and clinical team in our program. The faculty in our program have a friendly and professional relationship.

How many years of relevant experience do you have?

10 years in Community Mental Health
12 years of clinical experience in Neurosurgery
1 year of academic experience at Marywood

What were some of the other positions you have held?
I worked as a middle school therapist and mental health crisis worker prior to going to PA school.
