Gretchen attended Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science earning a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy. She completed a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Scranton. She finished her formal education at Temple University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She completed a general pharmacy residency at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ.
Gretchen has practiced clinically at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Community Medical Center, and Valley Hospital. She has also worked in independent retail pharmacies.
Gretchen has been teaching for over 25 years. She has taught at Rutgers University, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, The University of Scranton, and currently at Marywood University. She has also presented at continuing education conferences through Medical Educational Services, a national company.
Gretchen resides in Scranton with her husband Tim and three daughters – Casey, Kate, and Caroline.
