Service Opportunities

Get Involved

The Office of Community Service and Social Justice encourages all students to stop by and get involved in volunteer and community service opportunities. With on-campus, local, national, and even global options, students can engage in various collaborative opportunities to help make a positive impact in our world.

Lend a Hand, Donate, Speak Up:  There’s a Way for Everyone to be Involved!

Whether you are looking for a one-time volunteer activity, an ongoing community service opportunity, or you want to organize a new project, the Office of Community Service & Social Justice can help you.

Connect & Serve provides a current and ongoing list of campus and community projects that seek student volunteers and involvement.  These opportunities help meet needs on campus and in the local community. Questions? Email: communityservice@marywood.edu

Pacer Pantry is Marywood University’s campus-based pantry that provides supplemental fresh foods, produce, and grab & go items to Marywood students and employees. Marywood University has been designated as a Pennsylvania Hunger-Free Campus+ by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in recognition of its leadership in the area of college student food security.  Pacer Pantry is staffed by student volunteers and Federal Work Study eligible student workers. If you are interested in volunteering or working at Pacer Pantry, please email communityservice@marywood.edu for more information.

INFORMATION & GUIDELINES

  • Pacer Pantry is located on the lower level of Emmanuel Hall and is open on a regular schedule during the fall and spring semesters.  In addition to this main location, satellite pantry areas on campus stock grab & go items.
  • Donations are always welcome, including non-perishable food, small toiletries, cleaning products, and feminine hygiene items. Please contact pacerpantry@marywood.edu if you would like to donate or have any other pantry related questions.
  • To be eligible for our services, you must be enrolled for courses or currently employed at Marywood University.  Please have your Marywood ID each time you visit the pantry.
  • Once annually, you will be asked to register or update your information in order to utilize the pantry. Then, you simply need to check-in for each visit.  This enables us to restock and track the types of items that are needed.
  • Pacer Pantry receives food from donations and from the Regional Food Bank through a partnership with local community organizations. Products offered are dependent on their availability. We try to provide as much variety as possible.
  • Please only take items you need so that we have plenty for everyone. You are welcome to visit as often as you choose.
  • Read all labels to be sure you avoid any allergies or dietary restrictions—it is your responsibility to read all packaging.
